Moments are defined as particular points in time. But a quick point can still be a mighty force! How many of these do you think we glide through and never notice on a given day? Even every hour? As I get older, time – which has always been speedy – just seems to move faster! And that is a problem because, if I’m being honest, I’m slowing down.
Meaningful moments, quiet moments, victorious moments, difficult moments, I want to grab whatever quick moments I can, to linger in them before they rush away forever. One way I know to do this is to write them down. And that gave me an idea.
It could work like a potluck. If everyone brings 1 quick moment to share, we’ll get to taste them all! I can’t grab every moment that passes me by, but I can share 1 and so can you. Will you please? I cannot wait to read your comments and experience your moments with you!
“Taste and see that the Lord is good…”
Psalm 34:8a

A Mama Lava Moment (1 of a million before breakfast):
I brushed past early-morning sunlight filtering in from a window whose shutters were inadvertently left open last night. The color was a warm, rosy-buttery gold. It seemed to smile cheerfully and hint at a day full of promise. In that moment, my heart took a sip of resolve.
Your turn! Take a quick moment and share one…

The birds sing loudly and beautifully every morning these days. Having morning devotions on the back deck and reading in psalms to sing a new song to the Lord. I realized I am not as steadfast as the birds in praise but the birds do not know new songs that I know of (as great as they are). God wants me to be growing personally in relation with him and be singing new songs, have new stories and testimonies, not the same old ones.

Wish I could attach a photo…you might see it later in my blog! We dined tonight on some of the “last fruits” of our garden, now waning in the early October cool temps…little lettuces, a Cherokee purple tomato (yum), one last spring onion, Swiss chard, and a jalapeño pepper. My daughter had planted the seeds in tiny boxes in early spring at her house in Indiana, brought the seedlings to us, and we planted the fragile stems, not expecting them to make it. The tomato plants grew about four feet tall, and we had an abundance of chard! The little pepper was a total surprise, hidden in the undergrowth…a little spicy twist to the garden’s offerings. You never know what fruits will surface when you plant seeds–a good lesson for the Christian life! https://lightbournecreative.com/2021/03/15/the-privileged-life-planting-seeds-of-life/
