I captured this quick moment before it went fleeting by:
My concentration is drawn and perched momentarily on the audible. Above me, the rattling hum of the air conditioner. More distant, the affable voice of my husband too quiet to hear his words, but causing my grandchildren to belly laugh in unison. Collaborative conversation taking place in the kitchen, pocketed by the clinking of dishes, and the muted drone of a TV or two. The clicks of my keyboard add dramatic flair as my heart cherishes the quick moment it has spent immersed in the simultaneous sounds of a summer evening at home.
There is boundless wonder in every quick moment! Please share one of yours in the comments section below…

tonight I went to the last night of VBS to watch the little kids perform the songs they had been learning all week. I have no grand children in the program but I needed a moment of cuteness. Why, it’s my youngest grandson birthday and I am terrible homesick to see him and feel his arms around my neck. One little girl, younger then my grandson caught my attention, and for a moment I forgot about missing my grandson and lost my self in her cuteness. Then God brought another moment to me. My daughter ran the program this year and watching her share the gospel with these young children made me so proud she is mine and proud that she is using her gift God gave her to share the gospel. It’s like watching myself at her age, abundance of joy of teaching kids, loving life and being used of the Lord. It was a beautiful moment.

Hearing my bride snore like a sailor! 😁 It assures me she is breathing and sleeping beside me, even if she does keep me awake a little longer. It’s okay because I love her almost as much as she loves me.

Yes! That is a great one and a perfect perspective on it. Knowing those breaths are numbered makes every one of them precious and hearing them is so reassuring! Thank you for sharing.
