Helpful Little Hack of the Hour: School Supply Stock Up

Hopefully this helpful little hack of the hour is timely where you live. Are the kids in your neighborhood heading back to school? If so, your local stores probably have their school supplies on sale.

School Supply Stock Up

The price for a box of 24 Crayola Crayons is 54 cents at my nearby Walmart right now. Composition books are the same. Markers, glue, scissors – all are at the lowest prices of the year.

A box of crayons stores easily until it’s needed. Just don’t forget where you put it!

If you have kids in school, you know how they love brand new supplies. Why not pick up extras to freshen their stock at Christmas?

Even if you don’t have children at home, now is the time to stock up for:

  • your own art and journaling/notetaking endeavors
  • Operation Christmas Child boxes
  • Sunday School supplies
  • missionary packages
  • birthday gifts
  • donation to shelters
  • entertainment for children who visit you

There are many possibilities. What else can you think of?

Back-to-School season usually brings the lowest prices of the year on school supplies. That is why I had to mention it as today’s helpful little hack of the hour. No matter what the school calendar looks like where you live, if you watch the sales you will know when it is time to stock up!

“Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
    you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
    to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
    and praise your glorious name.”

1 Chronicles 29:11b-13

I love to stock up on school supplies! Fresh new notebooks and pens! Yay! I may be something of a stationary nerd! I have so many journals that I’m not sure I’ll ever catch up! But I love it! My kiddos don’t need a whole lot anymore, but occasionally require pens, pencils, or notebooks, so I will buy a limited amount. I still have extra notebooks from last year (or the year before?) so we’re good there! Ah, nothing like a fresh notebook and a lovely pen to start the Fall!

Isn’t that the truth!? Something about new school/office supplies just says “Anything is possible”. With the back to school sales, it is an inexpensive perspective reset that I welcome :). Have a great day!

I have yet to have last year’s boxes of crayons still laying around when the next stock-up sale occurs. There are many ways to bless people with this inexpensive endeavor 🙂 Happy happy, joy joy! 😉

Oh yes! My daughter is a great bargain hunter and always has some extra school supplies for the teacher to provide for the students who need it! Love and kindness can only be felt through our actions. Thank you for encouraging us all to think of ways to bless others! Luvs! Leigh

Ok- no counting! I have a deal for ya… I will buy me a box of crayons from you (my birthday is next week) and you buy you a box of crayons from me. And we’ll save each other the postage 🤣. Happy early birthday!

Thank you for mentioning Operation Christmas Child!! I’m working on organizing the box-packing party at our church right now, will need those school supplies! I encourage everyone to pack at least one box…it shares the hope of Christ with a little one (or teen) somewhere around the world. My last year’s box went to Ukraine!
