One Amazing Truth to Help you Avoid Ruin in a Disaster Zone

“Wait, one more thing!” series Post 10

“My son…
Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.”

Proverbs 3:25-26

My beloved child,

There is one amazing truth which will help you avoid ruin in a disaster zone. It sounds dramatic, but it’s true. Notice the people you see every day – in the news, in your sphere of influence, and maybe even amongst your friends – who encounter sudden disaster. Also take note of the ruin which often overtakes those who flirt with wickedness.

The one amazing truth which will help you avoid such trouble is this: the Lord will be at your side. He will keep you steady and your foot from being snared. With Him, you have no reason to fear.

Please do not misunderstand. You may encounter disastrous circumstances. But because the Lord is at your side, ruin cannot claim you. You are secure for eternity, come what may in this world. This is one amazing truth!

You are fiercely and forever loved.

This post is part of a series which was born the day my son moved out of the house. Please read Wait, one more thing! for the backstory.

I hope you do not mind me doing this, but when I read the first few sentences this chapter leaped in my spirit.

Psalm 121 says it all.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Glory to God for His mercies are new everyday. 🙏

Such sweet truth my friend. Thank you! I needed this. In my area, and my family, Covid has reared its ugly head. I sense fear. Sadly, I have a 35 year cousin in the ICU. My family is down with recent deaths. We have a promise from our Savior that he will NEVER leave nor forsake us. HIS healing and our healing attitudes may differ; yet, we know the promise of eternity with him. I’m writing what I call, “Wasted Pain”. Jesus did not waste his pain. Our pain can point others if we use it as a testimony of faith and to help others. God bless you my friend! Stay healthy and blessed! ❤

Oh I am so sorry for the pain you are experiencing. And you’re right- God doesn’t waste anything. I am praying for your cousin and for you as you model what God is showing you. Peace and God’s richest blessings to you and your family!
